About Me

Hello! I'm Supratim. I've been building software for over 14 years, navigating the chaotic but exciting world of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.

Currently, I work as a Senior Software Engineer at Capital One, where I focus on data engineering. My philosophy is simple: build tools that get out of the way. I believe the carefully designed solution is the kind you don't have to think about.

What I do

• Engineering: I specialize in Java, Python and Go. I love diving deep into performance optimization and system architecture.
• Open Source: I'm an active contributor. You'll often find me fixing bugs or improving documentation for the tools I use daily.
• Writing: I use this site to document my learnings. Writing helps me clarify my thoughts and (hopefully) help others solving similar problems.

When I'm not at the keyboard, I'm likely with my 7 year old boy or listening to music, watching animation or sci-fi, or trying to brew the perfect cup of coffee.
